- Under “Ways to prove who you are”, click on “Add a new way to sign in or verify”.
- Choose “Phone number” and follow the prompts to add your new phone number.
- You may need to verify the new number by entering a code sent to it.
Remove Old Phone Number (if necessary):
- If you want to remove the old phone number, find it in the list of verification methods and click “Remove”.
What other security options can I add?
Two-Step Verification:
- This adds an extra layer of security by requiring a second form of identification (like a code sent to your phone) when you sign in.
Authenticator App:
- Use an authenticator app (like Microsoft Authenticator, Google Authenticator) to generate verification codes. This is often more secure than SMS codes.
Backup Email Address:
- Add a secondary email address to your account. This can be used for account recovery if you lose access to your primary Priyo email.
Security Questions:
- Set up security questions that only you know the answers to. These can help verify your identity if needed.
Recovery Codes:
- Generate and store recovery codes. These can be used to access your account if you lose your phone or can’t receive verification codes.
Recent Activity Monitoring:
- Regularly check the recent activity section in your account settings to monitor for any suspicious sign-ins or activities.
Password Management:
- Use a strong, unique password for your account and consider using a password manager to keep track of it securely.
Sign-In Notifications:
- Enable notifications for sign-ins from new devices or locations. This way, you’ll be alerted if someone tries to access your account.
What is an authenticator app?
Here’s how it works:
Setup:
- You link the authenticator app to your account by scanning a QR code or entering a setup key provided by the service (like Microsoft, Google, etc.).
Code Generation:
- The app generates a new code every 30 seconds. This code is unique and time-sensitive.
Login Process:
- When you log in to your account, after entering your password, you’ll be prompted to enter the code from the authenticator app.
Security:
- Since the codes are generated on your device and change frequently, it’s much harder for someone to gain unauthorized access to your account.
Popular authenticator apps include:
- Microsoft Authenticator
- Google Authenticator
- Authy
- LastPass Authenticator
